Ambassador Maleeha Lodhi deviated from the conventional formal speech and instead kept her speech concise and straight to the point welcoming and thanking the attended dignitaries in celebration of the ‘Pakistan Resolution’ of 23rd March 1940 in Lahore that paved the way, seven years later, for an independent state for the Muslims of the Indian subcontinent.

NYPD Annual Ramdan Iftar Dinner

Community members and NYPD personnel gathered at One Police Plaza for the 10th annual Interfaith Ramadan Iftar Dinner hosted by the  NYPD Muslim Officers Society. During the holy month of Ramadan, observant Muslims fast from pre-dawn until sunset. At the dinner, local leaders from all faiths and backgrounds came together to break fast and celebrate the department’s diversity.

Jazz Democracy Presented  by Dimitri Vassilakis

The Permanent Mission of Greece to the UN hosted an exciting evening of Jazz performance with world class jazz musicians under the auspices of the Hellenic Ministry of Culture and Sports, Tourism, Greek National Tourism Organization, and National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. The event was held at the UN Trusteeship Council Chamber followed by a reception offering Greek wine and delicacies.

HRH Prince Mario-Max De Schaumburg Lippe and Jennifer Murphy hosted the fashion show extravaganza.
