A tearful but sweet farewell to Ambassador Al-Otaibi

A farewell reception at the Permanent Mission of Kuwait hosted by the United Nations for the beloved Ambassador Mansour Al-Otaibi of Kuwait and his spouse Soad. Many close friends attended- amongst the VIP guests were H. E. Khalifa bin Ali bin Issa Al-Harthy, Deputy Foreign Minister of Oman, the Secretary-General H.E. Amina J. Mohammed, the Deputy Secretary-General of UN. Ambassador Al-Otaibi is a world class diplomat having served Kuwait as Permanent Representative to the UN since 2010 with honor and distinction. Ambassador Al-Otaibi’s next post will be in Moscow as Kuwait’s bilateral Ambassador to the Russian Federation.

Soad Al-Otaibi, the dynamic spouse of the Ambassador, has served as President of the UNDWC (United Nations Delegations Women's Club) from 2015 to 2017, with grace and able leadership to enhance multilateralism, winning over one heart at a time. In addition, she has also served and led: Women United for Japan(2011); Women for Children (Asia Pacific representative spouses Group)(2011 – 2014); president of Islamic Heritage Society (IHS) (2011 – 2016); and chairperson for United International Bazaar (2016).
