Jude Elie Strengthens Haiti–West Africa Partnership During Sierra Leone Visit

FREETOWN, SIERRA LEONE — August 2026 — Presidential candidate Jude Élie has concluded a significant visit to Sierra Leone focused on strengthening diplomatic, economic, and business ties between Haiti and West Africa.
Accompanied by his team, including Greg Hack, Jimmy Sherlock, and Alan Martiny, Jude Élie held discussions aimed at identifying opportunities for investment, business partnerships, economic cooperation, and international support for Haiti.
A central part of the visit was an engagement with Mr. Mohamed Samuel, presidential candidate of the LPP (Liberation People Party). The meeting reflected a shared commitment to strengthening relationships between Haiti and African nations and creating new opportunities for cooperation between emerging leaders.
During the visit, the delegation also met with representatives of the Sierra Leonean government, including Ministers responsible for Lands, to discuss potential areas of cooperation, development, investment, and land-related initiatives. The delegation participated in site visits to gain a firsthand understanding of local development opportunities and explore practical avenues for future partnerships.

For Jude Élie, the visit represents an important step toward his vision of a strong, secure, economically independent, and internationally connected Haiti.
The delegation explored ways to build lasting bridges between Haiti and West Africa, particularly in areas such as private-sector investment, entrepreneurship, agriculture, infrastructure, land development, tourism, education, technology, and cultural exchange.
Jude Élie emphasized that Haiti cannot rebuild alone. The country needs strong partnerships with Haitians at home and abroad, as well as with nations and investors willing to participate in Haiti’s economic transformation.
“We are building bridges—not looking for charity. Haiti has talent, resources, history, and enormous potential. Our mission is to create the conditions for Haitians and international partners to invest, build, create jobs, and prosper together,” Jude Élie stated.
The Sierra Leone visit is part of Jude Élie’s broader effort to establish a new generation of international partnerships for Haiti, based on mutual respect, economic opportunity, security, and shared development.
The delegation believes that the historic relationship between Haiti and Africa can become a foundation for a new era of cooperation.
